01:56 pm - Run to the Hills

This is the song I am working on getting down right now in Rockband for the drums. Here is someone doing it.

Run to the hills

(harris)

White man came across the sea
He brought us pain and misery
He killed our tribes, he killed our creed
He took our game for his own need

We fought him hard we fought him well
Out on the plains we gave him hell
But many came too much for cree
Oh will we ever be set free?

Riding through dustclouds and barren wastes
Galloping hard on the plains
Chasing the redskins back to their holes
Fighting them at their own game
Murder for freedom a stab in the back
Women and children and cowards attack

Run to the hills run for your lives
Run to the hills run for your lives

Soldier blue on the barren wastes
Hunting and killing their game
Raping the women and wasting the men
The only good indians are tame
Selling them whisky and taking their gold
Enslaving the young and destroying the old

Run to the hills run for your lives
(repeat to end)

01:04 pm - Exercise

Some people have asked what I've been doing lately for exercise so here it is. I started Slim in 6 with Linda to workout with her on something but it turned out to be a very good and challenging program. I also attempt to keep my calories between 1200-1500 a day. I use fitday.com supplamented by dietfacts.com to keep track I'm sure it is not entirely accurate but it serves its purpose.

Monday

Afternoon: Eliptical 33 minutes, weights 30 minutes

Evening: Slim in 6 (Ramp it up) which is basically 47 minutes of aerobics with some resistance bands and such thrown in

08:55 am - Lacrosse

Played midi all game long.

- Midfield requires the most energy

- Midfield is a lot of fun

- Scored 2 goals

- Got one Assist

So those are my first full field goals. I tried an over the shoulder goal but it hit the goalie in the face mask.

- Catching is getting better still

- Need to work on my left hand

- Need to figure out how to make my net less stiff.

03:31 pm - LAX

So a bit of background. I've started playing lacrosse like 7 months or so ago indoors in a 3v3 league. This is called box lacrosse. Ir has a shared goalie and a 1/2 court basketball type of feel to it. The last couple of weeks I finally started playing full field lacrosse. This wasa big adjustment for me. You get a bit more rest but the action seems a little more intsense. It plays a bit like hockey or soccer with the offsides rules if you have to many people on one side of the field.

At any rate I was playing defense and passing the ball up whenever I would get one. Then one of the people I play with one wed as well as Sunday's came over and said "James you are the fastest person on this field next time you get a ball run it up and someone will drop back for you". Ok so this sounded like a brilliant plan and visions of glory filled my head. So next ball I scooped and sprinted down the length of the field. One of their d-men stepped up and I juked him out. Got a clear shot on goal but the goalie was good and blocked it. Then it hit me. I had to sprint back to make sure defense was covered. Needless to say I was pretty out of breath for a bit. You would think this would stop me from trying it again but I honestly can't wait for the next down ball and my opportunity to turn on the after burners yet again.

In other lax news I am getting better, I catch the ball way more often now and have some good dodges in my arsenal. It is good to know I am still fast enough to run with the young whipper snappers.
